  • 1990: New varieties on a roll, and so is tester’s association

    Eager for information on emerging varieties, the Pacific Northwest Fruit Tester’s Association spent two days touring plantings of Gala, Fuji, Braeburn and Jonagold apples, as well as new red pears and peaches. “Braeburn is a sleeper,” said association chair Jim Ballard. “It’s one of the best varieties going.
