A study that measured agricultural chemicals in the air near Washington State orchards did not find pesticides at levels considered harmful. The $530,000 study, conducted by the Washington State Department of Health in 2008 in the Yakima Valley and in north central Washington, was designed to find out if off-target movement of organophosphate pesticides posed a potential risk to residents or bystanders.
