Good Fruit Grower is published by the Washington State Fruit Commission, a state agency founded in 1947 to represent Northwest cherries, processed Northwest pears, and Washington-grown apricots, nectarines, peaches, prunes and plums. The Commission is funded by grower assessments for the purpose of promotion, market development, research and education for soft fruits grown in Washington state. The Commission and Good Fruit Grower are based in Yakima, Washington.
The mission of Good Fruit Grower is to educate growers. In doing so, we aim to be a trusted resource of information vital for growers’ success. We want you to make the most of our services and feel confident while doing so online. This privacy statement outlines our policy regarding the circumstances in which we gather your personally identifying information, how we may use such information, and who may access it.
Good Fruit Grower is deeply committed to protecting your privacy and will take all reasonable steps to protect all data and information supplied to goodfruit.com and goodfruit.com/es, our Spanish-language website, Good Fruit Grower en español. This privacy policy applies only to those websites operated by Good Fruit Grower. It does not apply to the activities of Good Fruit Grower’s third-party sponsors, advertisers, and other partners that may collect your user information while accessing or using third-party services in connection with your use of our websites. Information collected
When you subscribe to our magazine, our order form asks you to give us information specific to that order, including your name, billing address, shipping address, credit card information and email address. Other personally identifying information that we ask you to submit includes the following demographics: your telephone number, age range, profession, crops you grow, the general size of your operation, and whether you have organic acreage.
When you sign up for Fresh Bites or Lo último, our English and Spanish email newsletters, you provide us your name and email address for purposes of receiving the newsletter for which you have subscribed. We also ask, but do not require, that you submit your mailing address, telephone number, age range, company, profession, crops you grow, general size of your operation, and whether you have organic acreage.
The information we collect from you is used to process your magazine subscription order or your newsletter enrollment. We use the information to contact you if there is a problem with your order. We may also use the information to contact you for feedback or to inform you about similar products. We do not share this information with outside parties other than as described below. We may use this information to market our own goods or services to you. We do not sell, trade or otherwise make our customer list or any of the information we collect from you available to any other party other than as described below.
Surveys and contests
From time to time, Good Fruit Grower may request information from users via surveys or contests. Information requested may include contact and demographic information. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary. You have the choice whether or not to disclose any information in response to survey or contest questions. To provide communications from third parties: We respect the privacy of our users and will not disclose or distribute our user list to any third party, nor will we permit anyone else to do so. However, we do make available for rental our lists to companies we deem may have products or services of interest to you. Those lists include users who have subscribed to our services. Good Fruit Grower manages the release of those communications through our own approved third-party vendors. You can remove your consent to this use by calling (509) 853-3520.
Sharing your information: Magazine subscriber data is shared with our third-party provider, SimpleCirc (www.simplecirc.com), for subscription management and payment processing. We also utilize Authorize.net (www.authorize.net) for credit card processing. We do not store credit card information.
We use third parties to email our newsletters, host our website, and to mail the printed copy of the magazine to your mailing address. When you subscribe to the magazine or to our email newsletters, we will share your user information only as necessary for the third party to provide that service. These third-party providers are prohibited from using your information for any other purpose. If you do not want your information to be shared, you can choose not to allow the transfer of your information by not using that particular service.
We also may disclose your information if required to do so by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the edicts of the law.
Control of your information
Upon request, we will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your information. All subscribers to our newsletters may elect to stop receiving them by following the instructions at the end of any such email.
You may request that we send you any user information maintained by us about you. To make such a request, please email us at: growing@goodfruit.com from the email address associated with your account and provide any mailing addresses associated with the account. You may request to delete or modify your personal account and/or any user information you may have voluntarily submitted to us if you wish to do so. We will do our best to respond to your request within 30 days. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising this right.

We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Privacy of children
This website is intended for people who are at least 16 years of age. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will promptly and cheerfully give you a refund. You may cancel your subscription and request a refund by contacting us at: growing@goodfruit.com. Your refund will be prorated based on the number of issues remaining in your subscription term.
