SUMMARY:Pear Committee nominations: Handler FPC position for the Wenatchee district
DESCRIPTION:Pear handlers will elect nominees for a position on the Fresh Pear Committee (FPC) of Marketing Order #927. The committee is responsible for the collection of assessments for research\, and the promotion and advertising of all pears marketed in the domestic and export markets. \nThere is one Handler FPC position for the Wenatchee district to be filled at the Marketing Associations meeting on March 26\, 2019 at noon at the Washington Apple Commission Offices at 2900 Euclid Ave\, Wenatchee\, WA 98801. \nThe Handler Member position is currently held by Randy Talley 1st Alternate is Alisa Franklin\, and 2nd Alternate is Bob Gix. Mr. Talley can be nominated again; he has served 1 out of a possible 3 consecutive terms. \nAll pear handlers are eligible to attend and participate in the nomination.  The committee encourages women\, minorities\, and the physically challenged\, who qualify as pear growers/handlers\, to attend and participate in the nomination proceedings.  Names of those elected will be submitted to the Secretary of Agriculture for official appointment to the committee\, and will serve for a two-year period.
