The Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission announced in a news release the recent completion of its annual study of maximum residue levels (MRLs) in apples.
The 2024 study included 12 insecticides, six fungicides and three miticides in two distinct application scenarios in a modern, high-density Gala orchard.
The report from that study and a newly updated summary of all WTFRC apple residue studies, as well as previous summaries and annual reports from similar projects on apple and cherry, are now available on the WTFRC homepage at: treefruitresearch.org.
Since 2011, the WTFRC has conducted studies in apple and cherry crops to generate residue data for commonly used pesticides to help Washington growers make more informed choices about their spray programs with respect to concerns about MRLs in export markets.
