The Washington State Farmers Market Association has received funding for an additional 25 specialty crop farmers to attend the group’s 2017 conference at the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, Washington.
The Conference, which runs Feb. 3 and 4, offers a farmer track with workshops covering season extension, employee hiring and retention, agritourism, food safety rules for farmers market produce sales and more.
The scholarships cover conference registration fees, but not lodging.
Interested farmers who grow fruits, vegetables, flowers and nursery crops can apply by visiting www.wafarmersmarkets.org.
The application deadline is Jan. 15.
