Before he went into full-time politics, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee worked as a lawyer in apple growing Selah, Washington, where his clients included Tree Top. Among his regular reads? Good Fruit Grower magazine.
So when Jay Inslee came by last week to kick off the 2014 cherry season, he was pleased to wear one of our GFG hats.
In this photo by TJ Mullinax, Inslee is sharing a laugh with Rick Plath, president of Washington Fruit & Produce Co. Plath gave Inslee and others a tour of his company’s impressive new cherry packing plant — opening just in time for what looks like a big and high quality crop. Happy days.
