Cowiche Growers, a grower-owned fruit packing cooperative in Washington’s Yakima Valley, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
The company was founded on Jan. 27, 1923, but will mark the milestone with activities later this summer, said Craig Chronister, a representative of the company.
The cooperative, located west of Yakima, has 65 owner-members, packs 1.5 million boxes of apples annually and markets through Domex Superfresh Growers.
