Registration for the Washington State FSMA Water Quality Testing Workshops is now open. The Washington State Tree Fruit Association will host two workshops in collaboration with the Western Center for Food Safety (WCFS) from UC Davis, the Northwest Horticultural Council and the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission, on May 9 in Yakima and May 11 in Wenatchee.

This training for growers and food safety managers will provide recommendations for water sampling under the FSMA Produce Safety Rule for Agricultural Water Testing. A brief classroom presentation will cover the basics of agricultural water microbiology and environmental assessments; we will then provide transportation to and from the classroom to a field site for demonstrations and hands-on water sampling, source inspections, environmental assessment and record keeping exercises. You will have the opportunity to analyze your samples with our trainers from the WCFS, calculate a Water Quality Profile and hear about in-house laboratories for water sampling.
