Certis names two new regional sales managers
Certis Biologicals, which provides manufacturing and distribution of biological solutions for commercial agriculture, recenlty announced the addition of two new regional sales managers to its team: McKenna Mathis for the Pacific Northwest and Tommy Van Groningen for Northern California/Nevada.
Mathis, based out of Pasco, Washington, was raised in Mesa, Washington, on an apple orchard. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Washington University. She previously worked in sales with AgBiome.
“McKenna’s deep roots in agriculture and her proven track record in sales make her a valuable addition to our team,” said Chris Judd, vice president of North America sales at Certis Biologicals. “We are confident that her experience and dedication will help us continue to meet the needs of our customers and drive growth in the PNW region.”
Van Groningen, based out of Ripon, California, attended Modesto Junior College before earning his bachelor’s degree in crop production management from Fresno State University. He also obtained his PCA (pest control advisor) and CCA (certified crop advisor) licenses. He has experience in ag retail and worked on a 4,000-acre row crop and almond farm, where he became the head agronomist, overseeing the fertility and irrigation of various crops, including watermelons, silage corn and almonds.
“Tommy’s extensive hands-on experience, and his commitment to learning and helping others, make him an excellent addition to our team,” said Curt Nelson, Western division sales manager. “We are excited to see him grow and contribute to the success of our customers in Northern California and Nevada.”

Key Technology improves rotary sizing, grading systems
Key Technology, a member of Duravant’s food sorting and handling solutions group, recently introduced new features for its rotary sizing and grading systems, according to a news release. The equipment, which includes the precision size grader, rotary size grader and sliver sizer remover, enables vegetable, potato and fruit processors and packers to mechanically size and grade product while removing small pieces, debris and other targeted material.
“Our rotary sizing and grading systems have set the industry standard for decades. As the market leader, we’re always developing new ways to improve our popular, field-proven equipment to optimize it for the modern age,” said Jack Lee, Duravant president. “By advancing our technology, we offer our customers the very best solutions for solving current as well as future production challenges.”
The improvements include:
—New grooved rollers for more precise product grading and higher product separation efficiency. The grooved rollers are available as an option on new sliver sizer removers and as a field upgrade for installed sliver sizer removers and precision size graders.
—New “Lubed for Life” bearings, now standard and available for retrofitting. Unlike traditional bearings that require the regular application of grease, the new Lubed for Life bearings improve sanitation, reduce maintenance and maximize durability.
—An updated cover, which features a new singular latch mechanism instead of bolts, allowing easier access to the drive system, adjustment system and bearings for cleaning and maintenance.

TeeJet launches new electromagnetic flow meter
A new flow meter from TeeJet Technologies has been designed for no service or maintenance requirements and no risk of clogging, according to a news release. The FM9380 is unaffected by changes in fluid temperature, density, viscosity, concentration and electrical conductivity, and it comes with lifetime factory calibration and will never require any field calibration, according to the release.
“The engineering team at TeeJet really delivered with this electromagnetic flow meter,” said Doug Gamm, sales and marketing director at TeeJet Technologies. “The innovative product was designed with today’s spraying applications in mind. It requires no maintenance, is easy to connect to your TeeJet control system or other control systems as well. The FM9380 is designed for years of trouble-free operation. Plus, the unprecedented wide-flow range means it can handle the widest booms, but also provide flawless performance with just one or two nozzles spraying.”
The FM9380 has a flow range from 0.6 gpm to 100 gpm with a low pressure drop of 4 psi at 100 gpm. It is rated to a maximum pressure rating of 200 psi.
