The Northwest Horticultural Council has hired Barbara Madden as vice president for scientific affairs, effective in January.
Madden has worked for the Office of Pesticide Programs for the U.S Environmental Protection Agency in several roles since 1991, most recently with developing and maintaining technical guidance for pesticide risk assessments and performing food safety evaluations.
Madden earned a master’s degree in environmental science and policy from George Mason University in Virginia as well as a bachelor’s degree in crop sciences from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
