Marisol Oviedo is the new regulatory information specialist for the Northwest Horticultural Council.
Oviedo has a bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry from Heritage University.
She previously worked for the Yakima Health District in Yakima, Washington, as an environmental health specialist.
In her role, Oviedo will be responsible for monitoring the federal register for changes of interest or concern to the tree fruit industry, such as pesticide tolerances. She also will handle policy work for organic fruit.
Oviedo grew up in Wapato, Washington, and is fluent in Spanish.
