Nominations for positions on the Washington/Oregon Processed Pear Committee will take place Dec. 15 at the Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers annual grower/handler meeting. 

Oregon handler positions currently held by member S. Jason Moore and first alternate Ben Roby are open for nominations. 

Positions to the Processed Pear Committee are each two-year terms beginning July 1, 2023, and expiring June 30, 2025. The PPC encourages women, minorities and the physically challenged, who qualify, to attend and participate in the election proceedings. 

The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. at 3 Rivers Grill (601 Oak St.) in Hood River, Oregon. If you have any questions concerning these nominations, contact the PPC by phone at: 509-453-4837 at least four business days before the meeting.

The Processed Pear Committee was established to administer federal marketing order provisions relating to the handling of pears for processing.
