Nominations for positions on the Washington/Oregon Processed Pear Committee will take place during an industry public meeting on March 2 at 11 a.m. during the Pacific Northwest Canned Pear Service Annual Meeting to be held in the W.L. Hansen Building in Yakima, Washington.
Up for nomination are: Washington/Oregon Processor No. 1 positions currently held by member Ryan Herrington and first alternate Steve Carlson, and Processor No. 3 positions currently held by member Richard Baldoz and first alternate vacant.
Positions on the Processed Pear Committee are each two-year terms beginning July 1 and expiring June 30, 2024. The PPC encourages women, minorities and the physically challenged, who qualify, to attend and participate in the election proceedings.
The Processed Pear Committee was established to administer federal marketing order provisions relating to the handling of pears for processing.
