Steve Black has been appointed sales manager of Holtzinger Fruit Company, Yakima, Washington. He was previously on the sales desk at Sage Fruit Company, Yakima, for eight years.
Black’s grandparents had a small orchard in the Buena Heights area of the Yakima Valley, where they grew apples, peaches, apricots, prunes, and cherries.
His grandfather Andrew Black, Sr., was a grower and horticulturist in the lower Yakima Valley, and his father, Andy, spent his entire career as an apple salesperson in Yakima until his recent retirement.
Steve has spent his life in the produce business. He started working in orchards, then in a warehouse, and was a transportation broker before joining Sage Fruit.
