The University of Idaho’s Sandpoint orchard will hold a free monthly webinar regarding tree fruit growing starting Aug. 19. The series runs through April 21.

Like so many other events, the Heritage Orchard Conference has moved online because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Started in 2019 at the university’s Sandpoint Organic Agriculture Center, which features an orchard with heirloom varieties, the gathering brings together a wide range of tree fruit enthusiasts for a variety of topics.

This year’s talking points will include the Lost Apple Project, identification of heritage apples by genetic fingerprinting and restoration pruning.
