Four workshops focused on reducing wine grape revenue losses will be offered on March 18 and 19 in Eastern Washington to growers and individuals working in the wine grape industry.
The Washington Wine Industry Foundation says the three-hour presentations will “show growers and wineries why and how to define and document terms of sales, protect price, assure delivery, use liens, and file UCC financial statements.”
The workshops will take place on March 18 in Walla Walla and Pasco and on March 19 in Prosser and Yakima.
Registration can be made through the Washington Wine Foundation web site for $30 per person.

Hands-on Workshop on Reducing Revenue Losses on Grape Sales
TO: WAWGG Members and Friends
I wanted to alert you to a workshop that is coming up this month that should provide some very useful information for growers and wineries as well as those companies like banks and insurance companies.
Through a grant from USDA Risk Management Agency, the Washington Wine Industry Foundation is presenting a workshop on “how to reduce revenue losses on wine grape sales” in four locations in eastern Washington.
This is a hands-on workshop! The three hour presentation that includes attorneys, bankers and growers, will both talk about and show growers and wineries why and how to define and document terms of sales, protect price, assure delivery, use liens, and file UCC financial statements. The idea is to learn about tools that will ensure a healthy and long term relationship between buyer and seller.
Each session will include what resources are available, how liens work, using the UCC, what a good contract looks like, getting a grower’s license, using PACA and, of course, your banker’s concerns. PLUS, there will be an extensive Q&A portion of the workshop to address your specific issues.
The cost is only $30.00 and you may click here to register.
There are four sessions to choose from:
Wednesday, March 18
Walla Walla–8:00 – 11:00 am, Port of Walla Walla, 310 A Street
