The Washington State Department of Agriculture Plant Protection Division and Yakima County Horticultural Pest and Disease Board announced in a news release the third annual workshop scheduled March 8 from 9:20 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

This free workshop, titled “Inside Looking Out: IPM Practices for Tree Fruit in Washington State,” will be held online and will cover subjects impacting the tree fruit industry in the Yakima area. 

Presentations will provide an in-depth look at new strategies implemented in the field and train growers to recognize the signs of plant disease, insect pests and weeds. Topics include little cherry disease and X phytoplasma (X disease), Japanese beetle, apple maggot, Asian giant hornet, spotted lanternfly and noxious weeds. 

Four pesticide credits are available for the event.
