¿Cómo empezó a trabajar en la agricultura?

Al principio por mi esposo que ya trabajaba en la agricultura. Me gusta trabajar en las huertas porque es un lugar donde me siento más libre y puedo aprender.

¿Cuáles son sus responsabilidades?

Tuve la oportunidad de subir un poco en mi puesto de trabajo. Llevo el control del programa Global G.A.P., del rancho donde estamos. Es un programa del gobierno que controla la seguridad alimentaria.

¿Y el futuro del sector?

Que se estabilice la economía. La gente trabaja bien, pienso que están contentos.

In February 2026, during G.S. Long Co.’s Winter Ag Academy, we spoke with Angelica from Wapato. She is an assistant manager with Allan Bros.

Getting to know Angelica Rodriguez

 How did you start working in agriculture?

At first, it was because of my husband who was already working in agriculture. I like working in the orchards because they are a place where I feel free and can learn.

What are your responsibilities?

I had the opportunity to move up a little in my job. I manage the Global G.A.P. program on the ranch where we are. It’s a government program that monitors food safety.

And the future of the industry?

We need the economy to stabilize. People work hard, I think they are happy.
