¿Qué le gusta de trabajar en este sector?
Me gusta la industria de la manzana y la pera, producir alimentos. Me gusta cómo se plantan los árboles, cómo se cosecha la fruta, cómo nace y cómo crece.
¿Cuál será su próximo paso?
Lo más práctico es que siga en los huertos enseñando a otros. Me gusta la tecnología; hace que el trabajo sea mejor.
¿Qué otra ambición tiene?
Mi objetivo es plantar árboles sobre una mutación que descubrí yo mismo.

In December 2025, during the annual meeting of the Washington State Tree Fruit Association held in Wenatchee, we spoke with Apolinar, from Peshastin, an agricultural worker and student in HOEEP (Hispanic Orchard Employee Education Program) at Wenatchee Valley College.
Getting to know Apolinar Ramos
What do you like about working in this sector?
I like the apple and pear industry, producing food. I like how the trees are planted, how the fruit is harvested, how it buds, how it grows.
What will be your next step?
The most practical thing is to continue working in the orchards teaching others. I like technology. It makes the work better.
What other ambition do you have?
My goal is to plant trees on a mutation that I discovered myself.
