¿Cómo empezó a trabajar en la agricultura?
Durante la high school, mis trabajos de verano en los huertos son lo que despertó mi interés por la agricultura. Ahí mis conocimientos expandieron.
Háblanos de su experiencia.
He trabajado como cuadrillera con los H-2A. La verdad es que hubo mucha batalla. Seguí creciendo. Salió la oportunidad de trabajar con AgriMACS hace dos años. Ahora comunico recomendaciones del patrón a los manejadores de huerto.
¿Qué papel desea a realizar en el futuro?
Quiero volver a estudiar para convertirme en un tipo de fieldman. Quiero poder explicar cómo funciona el huerto y hacer recomendaciones.

During the Washington State Fruit Tree Association Annual Meeting in Wenatchee, in December 2025, we spoke with Jislen, a pesticide coordinator and orchard monitor employed by AgriMACS.
Getting to know Jislen Estrada
How did you get your start in agriculture?
During high school, summer orchard jobs sparked my interest in agriculture. That’s where my knowledge started to expand.
Tell us about your experience.
I was a crew leader with H-2A workers. To be honest, it was quite a struggle, but I kept growing. Two years ago, I had the opportunity to start working with AgriMACS. Now I communicate recommendations from the boss to the orchard managers.
What role do you want to play in the future?
I’d like to go back to school to become a kind of fieldman. I want to be able to explain how (the orchard) works and make recommendations.
