Washington State University offering postharvest and pollination workshop Feb. 18

Washington State University announced a workshop focused on postharvest and pollination topics scheduled for Feb. 18 in Wenatchee. 

The event, “Innovative Tools to Combat Emerging Diseases and Boost Pollination Workshop,” will be held at the Confluence Technology Center (285 Technology Center Way) from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific. 

Topics include:

—Emerging pathogens: sources and management.

—On-site detection of emerging pathogens to enhance management and shipping.

—Identifying new pollinizers to replace Manchurian crabapples.

—Enhancing pollination efficiency.

—Precision crop load management.

—Bee foraging and health.
