2025 pesticide residue report released for cherry

Since 2011, the Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission has conducted annual studies to provide the Northwest cherry industry basic information about residues of commonly used pesticides. These studies are intended to help growers and consultants make more informed pest management decisions with respect to concerns about maximum residue levels (MRLs) in foreign markets.

The research commission recently completed its 2025 cherry study at a Skeena block near East Wenatchee. This year’s trial included 15 insecticides/acaricides, three fungicides and, for the first time, the plant growth regulator prohexadione calcium (Apogee/Kudos).

The results of that study, along with a supplemental report summarizing prohexadione calcium residues from this Skeena trial and another 2025 study on Sweetheart, are now available on the WTFRC website: treefruitresearch.org. Archived reports on apple and cherry from previous years are also available.
