The Washington State Tree Fruit Association, the Washington State Department of Agriculture’s Technical Services and Education Program, the Agricultural Leadership Program and the Pacific Northwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center are partnering to offer the Agricultural Leadership Conference, in English and Spanish, on Feb. 20 at the Yakima Convention Center in Yakima, Washington, according to a news release.
Designed for farm supervisors and managers, this full-day, bilingual conference will provide information to reinforce leadership concepts learned during the Agricultural Leadership Program and will also serve as an introduction for those seeking to explore leadership in agriculture.
The conference will feature a main session with leadership role models and then four, 60-minute modules covering values and principles, emotional intelligence and self-awareness, the power of storytelling, and mental health in agriculture.
A $100 registration fee has been fully paid with funding from the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries Safety and Health Investment Program, making this conference free for participants. Coffee, pastries and lunch will be provided.
