    Netting trial looks to allow predators to keep aphids in check while maintaining codling moth control. 

    —Drape netting controls codling moth, but it can trigger an outbreak of aphids if their predators are also blocked by the netting. A new trial by Washington State University and U.S. Department of Agriculture scientists shows a compromise may be possible.
