The Washington State Fruit Commission board of directors will meet on Monday, Jan. 26, to discuss and vote on the hiring of a new president. 

The special meeting, set for 1 p.m. (Pacific Time) at the W.L. Hansen Building in Yakima, was announced on Friday Jan. 23. The meeting is open to the public. 

Former commission president B.J. Thurlby retired at the end of 2025, and the board of directors began the search for his replacement last fall. •
