  • 1996: Beneficial insects now can be sprayed on trees

    Long before drones entered the scene, growers and entomologists were eager to efficiently distribute commercially raised beneficial insects in orchards. This story explores testing of a U.S. Department of Agriculture sprayer designed to disperse natural-enemy eggs commercially as a cooperation between the USDA, Beneficial Insectary of California and Smucker Manufacturing of Oregon.
