We continue to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Good Fruit Grower this year, and with each issue, we find more reasons to marvel at the many seasons of change for both the magazine and the industry we serve.
Change, of course, is inevitable. There will be more to come. But change also offers an opportunity to evolve, to learn and to grow. We are the Good Fruit Grower after all, and we’re excited about the changes ahead.
First, the magazine will transition to 12 issues per year in 2027 with a monthly publication schedule.
Rising print and postage costs precipitated this move, but it doesn’t mean you’ll be getting less — not by a long shot. We will continue to cover all the issues you care about, from pest, disease and orchard management to labor and new technologies, along with a new issue focused on organics and regenerative practices.
The recent redesign of our website and our email newsletter reflect our continued efforts to serve growers when and where they need vital information. And with that in mind, we have two new offerings coming.
In October, the magazine launches its first podcast, Sound Bites, featuring timely interviews with the people you want to know more about or hear from. It’s an opportunity for us to expand on what we write in the magazine but deliver it in a new format.
And, just like cherry season, when you thought you couldn’t eat another bite, we bring you a new newsletter as well: One More Bite.
The newsletter will feature a link to the podcast, to ensure you don’t miss each new episode, but you’ll also find a fresh perspective from a member of our team. It might be interesting snippets that never found a home in a print story, or perhaps something new that has happened in the industry and requires reflection.

The Global Organization for Agricultural Robotics, or GOFAR, an international organization working to accelerate the adoption of agricultural robotics and autonomous technologies, brings its FIRA USA conference to Yakima, Washington, Oct. 20–22.
The event will feature robotics demonstrations and technical talks, as well as opportunities to visit with vendors building the next generation of innovations for the field.
