WSFC board nominations: May 13, 2026

Two commissioner positions on the sixteen-member Washington State Fruit Commission Board of Directors are up for nomination during the WSFC 5-State Meeting slated for May 13 at the Holiday Inn Richland on the River in Richland, Washington.

The two positions are Dealer Position No. 14 , District 2, and Processor Position No. 15. Both positions are currently vacant.

These commissioner positions on the WSFC board are each for a partial term, expiring on April 30, 2027, and 2028, respectively. Written nominations, signed by five persons qualified to vote for the said nominees, may be made up to five days immediately following said nomination meeting and shall be filed with WSFC at 105 South 18th Street, Ste. 205, Yakima, WA 98901, or emailed to: legal@wastatefruit.com.

This meeting is open to all persons and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), language interpretation or translation, or special meals should contact the WSFC at 509-453-4837 at least three business days before the meeting.

NOTICE TO FRUIT GROWERS AND PROCESSORS

PURSUANT to the direction of the State Director of Agriculture and Chapter 15.28 of the Revised Code of Washington as amended, notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Richland on the River, 802 George Washington Way, Richland, WA, oral nominations will be taken at the annual Processors meeting of the candidates for

Position #14 (currently vacant) as Dealer Member of the Washington State Fruit Commission Board of Directors for District #2, consisting of Kittitas and Yakima counties, and Benton County north of the Yakima River, for a partial term expiring April 30, 2027; and,

Position #15 (currently vacant) as Processor Member of the Washington State Fruit Commission Board of Directors, for a partial term expiring April 30, 2028.

WRITTEN nominations, signed by five persons qualified to vote for the said nominees, may be made five (5) days subsequent to said nomination meeting and shall be filed with said Commission at: 105 South 18th Street #205, Yakima, WA 98901, fax (509)453-4880.

THEREAFTER, appointment or election will be held by secret mail ballot conducted under the supervision of the State Director of Agriculture.
