Organizers of the FIRA USA conference planned in Yakima, Washington, on Oct. 20–22 have announced that the agenda will include a Spanish-language session with a focus on helping farmworkers adapt to technology.
The trade show and conference is organized by GOFAR, the Global Organization for Agricultural Robotics, in partnership with Yakima County and the Yakima County Development Association. The Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission and Washington State University are also providing support for the event.
The session in Spanish is scheduled on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Stage 3 at State Fair Park in Yakima. The moderator will be Ignacio Márquez, regional assistant to the director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture. The topic: “From Field to Technology: How Farmworkers Can Adapt to the Automated Farm — a candid conversation about trust, adaptation and the human side of agricultural automation.”
